Shat-R-Shield® safety coated, shatterproof UV Germicidal Lamps are used in many HVAC and water treatment applications to eliminate bacteria, viruses, molds and other microbes. Plastic coated UV Germicidal Lamps emit high output UV-C ultraviolet radiation. This popular method of disinfection is a cost effective, physical process rather than chemical. Shat-R-Shield® UV/Germicidal lamps are coated from end to end with the patented, plastic safety coating. The coating reduces light output by less than 1%. If used properly under warranty criteria, the coating is guaranteed not to yellow, crack or flake for the rated life of the lamp. If a Shat-R-Shield® fluorescent lamp is accidentally broken, virtually all glass, phosphors and mercury are safely contained within the clear and tough, skin tight plastic coating.
