The Allen-Bradley® GuardShield™ family of safety light curtains are general purpose presence sensing devices, designed for use on hazardous machinery providing point of operation, as well as, perimeter and access detection. It is a self-contained, two box, Type 4 ESPE (Electro Sensitive Protective Equipment) with DIP-switch selectable operating modes. The GuardShield is offered in a number of configurations based on a standard Type 4 safety light curtain platform. In addition to the standard GuardShield, the GuardShield is offered with a Remote Teach box used to externally teach fixed blanking, in a cascading configuration which allows the interconnection of up to three pair of Guard Shields, with an integrated laser alignment system in standard and ascadable configurations and with connectivity to ArmorBlock Guard I/O for network connectivity providing OSSDs over a DeviceNet safety network. The ArmorBlock Guard I/O option is available in standard and cascadable versions with the integrated laser system.
